DAY 1

Colombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka! You are met and transferred to arguably Sri Lanka’s finest five-star hotel, facing the foaming waters of the Indian Ocean.

DAY 2

Colombo – Dambulla
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the highlights of Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital and major port. This is followed by a visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to view the baby elephant feeding and watch these gentle giants lumber down to the river for a bath and scrub-up from their keepers. Then onto Dambulla, with a stop for lunch. Before checking into your hotel, enjoy a visit to the famous Dambulla Rock Cave Temples. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, the five well-preserved sanctuaries are filled with statues of Buddha and a fabulous display of murals.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

DAY 3

Sigiriya Sightseeing
This morning visit the spectacular citadel of Sigiriya, the ‘fortress in the sky’, set atop a towering outcrop which rises 200 metres above the plains. Halfway up, meet the ‘Heavenly Maidens’, colourful frescoes of beguiling, bare-breasted damsels painted some 1500 years ago. Then ascend between the giant claws of the Lion Gate to the remains of the upper palace. Afterwards, continue to Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka, which enjoyed 100 years of majesty before being plundered by invaders, reclaimed by the jungle and forgotten for 700 years.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

DAY 4

Dambulla – Kandy
Midway between the coast and hill country, the mild conditions are perfect for growing spices and healing herbs. Heading south, visit a Spice Garden at Matale for a stroll in the fragrant greenery. See where the ingredients of Sri Lankan cuisine come from and learn about their medicinal properties. Now on your hotel in Kandy, hidden behind lush tropical gardens on the banks of the Mahaweli river. Freshen up before tonight’s dinner and traditional dance show, a frenetic and colourful spectacle accompanied by tumultuous drumming.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Kandy Sightseeing
After breakfast, embark on a city tour of the cultural capital of the Sinhalese, including a visit to the Peradeniya Botanical Garden boasting a large and beautiful variety of flora, some dating back hundred years. Visit also the gem museum and art and craft center.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Kandy – Colombo
After breakfast, transfer to Colombo Airport for your onward flights.(Buffet Breakfast)
